Terms of Service

These terms govern your purchase and use of the Fretcraft desktop application and the fretcraft.app website, operated by Zampaw S.R.L.S, Gubbio (PG), Italy (“we”, “us”). Questions: support@fretcraft.app.

1. The product

Fretcraft is a desktop application for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows that teaches guitar harmony, voice leading, ear training, and fretboard skills. It is a digital product delivered by download — nothing is shipped physically.

2. Free trial

You can try the full app free for 7 days, starting the first time you launch it on a device. No payment details are required for the trial. One trial per device; circumventing the trial mechanism is not permitted.

3. Purchase, price, and delivery

The license costs €39 as a one-time payment (VAT included where applicable), processed securely by Stripe. Delivery is immediate: your personal license key is issued to your account and emailed to you right after payment. An invoice/receipt for your purchase is emailed to you as well.

4. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

EU law grants consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. For digital content that is delivered immediately, this right ends once delivery begins with your express consent — as provided by Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and Art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005).

By completing your purchase you expressly request immediate delivery of your license key and acknowledge that you thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal. This is also stated at checkout.

5. Refund policy

Beyond your statutory rights, we want you to be happy: try the app fully during the 7-day free trial before buying. If after purchase the app does not work correctly on your system and our support cannot fix the problem within a reasonable time, we will refund you — email support@fretcraft.app within 14 days of purchase with a description of the problem. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Nothing in this section limits your non-waivable statutory rights, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

6. Your license

  • Personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Fretcraft for your own learning and music-making.
  • Activation on up to 3 devices that you own or control. You can ask support to free a device slot (e.g. after replacing a computer).
  • You may not resell, share, or publish your license key, nor reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app except where the law expressly permits it.
  • We may deactivate keys involved in fraud, chargebacks, or key-sharing; where reasonable, we’ll contact you first.

7. Updates

Your purchase includes all app updates for 1 year. After that, the app keeps working — forever — with the last version covered by your license, and you can optionally buy an update pack at a reduced price to receive another year of updates. Security-relevant fixes to the license service are not artificially withheld.

8. Warranty and liability

For consumers, the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content applies. Beyond what the law requires, the app is provided “as is”; we do not promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to Fretcraft is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded (e.g. for intent, gross negligence, or consumer rights that cannot be waived).

9. Website accounts

Keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts used for fraud or abuse of the service.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may sue or be sued in your local courts. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We prefer to solve things directly — write to us first and we’ll do our best.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future purchases or for legal reasons. The version in force when you buy is the one that applies to your purchase. Material changes will be announced on this page.
